Ernie K-Doeは、1936年2月26日New Orleans生まれで、2001年7月5日に亡くなっている。
1954年、The Blue Diamondsのメンバーとして、Honey Baby / No Money（Savoy 1134）でデビュー。
1955年には、Ernest Kadorの名で、Eternity/Do Baby Do(Specialty 6562）をリリース。Do Baby Doは、Creole Kings of New Orleans Vol.1(Specialty SPCD 2168-2）で聴くことができる。
Specialtyでの作品は、So Glad You’re MineがCreole Kings of New Orleans Vol.2で聴くことができる。
1959年には、Ernie Kadoの名で、My Love for You/Tuff Enuff（Ember 1050）、Ernie K Doeの名で、My Love for You/Shirley’s Tuff（Embor 1075）をリリース。
同年、Minitに移籍。Ernie K-doeの名で、Make You Love Me/There’s A Will there’s A Way（Minit 604）をリリース。
Make You Love Meは、Burn! K-Doe, Burn!（Charly CD 231）で聴くことができる。
1961年、Mother-in-Lawが大ヒットし、同曲を含むLP、Mother-in-Law（Minit 0002）がリリースされる。
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 1976（Rhino R2 71111）では、ゴスペル唱法によるAin’t it the Truth、Mother in Lawの2曲を聴くことができる。
