Jesse Belvinは、1932年12月15日テキサス州サンアントニオ生まれ。1960年2月6日に亡くなっている。
1956年のヒットGood Night My Love、Oh What A Niteに通ずるようなバラードナンバーのGirl of My Dreamsは、Casual Jesse Belvin（Crown CLP 5145）に収録されている。
Cliquesというヴォーカルグループのメンバーとして吹き込んだ曲もある。
アーリーソウルへの萌芽を思わせるアルペジオと3連ピアノのバラードであるGuess Who(1959年）は、Just Jesse Belvinに収録されている（RCA LSP-2089）。
Sax、ブルースピアノ、コーラスがR&Bの中にBluesなDeacon Dan Tuckerは、Hang Your Tears out to Dry（Earth Angel JD-900）に収録されている。
