[Career]

Falconsは、1955年結成。

結成当初のメンバーは、Bob Manardo、Eddie Floyd、Tom Shetler、Amett Robinson、Willie Schofield。

Bob Manardが、Tom ShetlerのいたVolunteersに引き抜かれ、1956年に、Baby That’s It /This Day（Mercury 70940）でデビュー。

その後、Joe Stubbs、Lance Finnie　が加わり、1957年に、Sent up / Can’t This Be Christmas（Silhouette 521/522）をリリース。

1958年のThis Heart of Mine/Romanita(Kudo 661）から、Bonny Mack Riceが加入。

1959年、You’re So fineが大ヒット。同名のアルバム（Flick 8005）をリリース。

1960年、Joe Stubbsがグループを離れ、Wilson Pickettが、Workin’ Mans Song/Pow! You’re in Love(United Artist 289）から加入。

1961年のI Found A Loveは、ディープソウルの嚆矢と評価される。リードは、Wilson Pickettが務めている。バックは、Robert WardがメンバーのOhio Untouchablesが務めている。

Carlis Sonny Monroeが1963年のOh Baby/Fine Fine Girl（Atlantic 2207）から加入。
