<p>旧年中もR&B、ソウル界の大物アーチストが亡くなっている。その中の一人がシルビア・ロビンスンで、9月29日に亡くなっている。75歳であったそうである。50年代には、1956年にMickey bakerとMickey&sylviaとして、love is strange等のヒット曲を出し（R&B1位）、70年代に入ってからも、All-platinum時代は、Geore kerrと共にthe momentsを手掛け、My thing, With you等も彼女の作品である。そして、Vibrationから、「Pillow talk」, 「Sylvia」,「Sweet stuff」,「Lay it on me」,と4枚のアルバムを出している。その後1979年に、sugarhillレーベルを立ち上げてsugarhill gang「Rapper’s Delight」等のプロデュースを行っている。他にプロデュースしたアーチストには、the sequence 等がいる。sugar hillからは、grandmasterflash & the furious fiveの「the message」等の重要作も生まれている。</p>
